Are you ready to be part of the Madness??

 

We all know Minnesota is the “Home of 10,000 Lakes,” but also 10,000 dancers??  Just about any week you can find a dance party or event to attend in the Twin Cities area.   Now coming to your dance calendar is “MINNESOTA MADNESS!”

 

Held Saturday, October 27^th at the Shakopee Ballroom this event is brought to you by Nathan Daniels and Scott Anderson.  Both Nathan & Scott have years of professional experience, have coached & judged competitions all over the country, as well as supported all of the local dance events here over the past 25 years.  Together, they bring a new social event for all to enjoy!

 

Here’s what you need to know…

 

• The daytime session is referred to “Social Madness” in which couples are given written comments by a Professional Panel – they are NOT judged, or given a placement.  All of the ballroom & rhythm dances are available to enter.  The focus is on “lead/follow” social dancing – interpretation to the music – but, most importantly – have fun & be creative!!  Each time a couple dances they will receive comments from the Panel to take home with them on how to improve their dancing, and other constructive comments.
• NO DANCE COSTUMES or SPECIFIC CHOREOGRAPHY is allowed during the “Social Madness” part of the day.
• The second part of  the event is “Competition Madness” in which you dance your specific choreography and wear dance costumes.  YOU ARE NOT COMPETITING AGAINST OTHER COUPLES (although more will be on the floor), you are, again, receiving written comments & suggestions from our Panel on how to better your “competition” dancing.
• Throughout the day, there will be other FUN dance opportunities to sign up for like “Jack n’ Jill’s,” “Mystery Dance,” “Team Match,” and “Ballroom Relay!”  These events will be available to anyone who is already participating in the “Social Madness” or “Competition Madness” parts of the event.

 

Other important things to know about “Minnesota Madness”…

• Bring your OWN VIDEO CAMERA!  The event is designed to be a “learning tool” to help better your dancing – no professional videographer or photographer will be available.  Please be respectful, and only video tape your performance, not that of others.
• This event is open to all PRO/AM and AMATEUR COUPLES! 
• “Minnesota Madness” is a fantastic way to meet other dancers in the area, as well as bring new dancers to dance events!
• No matter what level you are, no matter whether you’ve EVER participated in an outside dance event – Minnesota Madness is for you!!

• Advertise your studio, business, or event at a low advertising rate:  $40 for Full Page and $25 for Half page.

• The Shakopee Ballroom is a beautiful dance facility that Scott and Nathan are proud to support with their business.  They ask no outside food be brought into the ballroom as there will be box lunches & beverages available to purchase.  Any participant will also receive the Buffet Dinner served between the day & evening sessions.
• Spectator admission tickets will be available at the door for $10 for the Day Session (10 am – 5 pm) and $10 for the Evening Session (7:30 pm - ?).  There will be plenty of social dancing throughout the event as well!
