Well we’re back! Wow what an experience………three days in a dream like state…..It was absolutely awesome! We are going to walk you through this con report day by day and hope it’s not to long, but there was so much to see and do! This was our first convention and for sure, not our last!

Friday  - August 3, 2001

On Thursday August 2 after a nine-hour train ride we finally arrived in Virginia. where we met up with our fellow Voyager fan, Coffeegirl.  Late into the night we talked about the people we would meet and the autographs we would get.  Aaaaaaaah and plans were made to travel to DC on Friday.

“On the road again” and we arrived at the Convention hotel around 3:00 PM Friday afternoon and things were in full swing already!  We registered, dropped off our luggage and we were on the go from that moment on! Well here is our con report and we hope you all enjoy it…

We went into the dealers room and what an awesome sight!  Star Trek everywhere. We shopped and shopped till we dropped (that night). We ate in the revolving restaurant /bar which was on top of the hotel! (As if we weren’t dizzy enough with all the excitement) What a breath taking view of beautiful downtown DC…Anyway we ate and went back downstairs to shop some more……everything shut down at 10:00 PM and we headed back to our room to chill out.   Four TV channels and guess what was on one of them?

YES  YES YES  VOYAGER   what a great way to end day one.

Saturday – August 4, 2001

Up and ready to go. It is now 7:00AM can’t sleep anymore…..

So we head for Breakfast in the hotel restaurant.  Nothing eventful except the bill (save your dollars.)  Where are the replicators when you need them!!!!!

Headed to the convention floor and our seats, five rows from the front (Up close and personal).

All stars were on stage and signed autographs throughout the convention.  We will mention as many as we remember.  Especially those we talked to and photographed.

Star Trek (Original Series):

Guest stars such as Celeste Yarnell – Judson Scott (Wrath of Khan) –

Xena –

Xena’s arch enemy  - Clair Stansfield, who was absolutely AWESOME, strikingly beautiful, very funny, extremely fan friendly and down to earth.  She graciously allowed us to be photographed with her (like almost a whole roll) and was very easy to talk with.

Voyager Stunt Team:

Leslie Hoffman                     Roxann Dawson’s stunt double.

Brian Williams                      Played a Klingon

Tom Morga                         Played a Borg on Voyager

We reluctantly took a snack break (STARVING)

When we returned to the convention floor Walter Koenig (Chekov) from the original Star Trek was on stage answering fan questions.  Saarak asked Walter  “During Star Trek IV, in the scene with the policeman, were any of the people on the street non- Star Trek extras?” He said, “ The lady who said the nuclear vessels were in Alameda, was not part of the show, but Leonard Nimoy the director left it in because he liked it so much.”

HIGHLIGHT OF OUR DAY

  **********JERI RYAN**********

How many ways can you describe Jeri Ryan? Let us try.

As Jeri stepped onto the stage a standing ovation  - ear shattering applause – shouts of “We love you Jeri”, resonated throughout the convention room for many many nanoseconds.

Now the room hushed and you could hear a pin drop as everyone waited with bated breath to hear Jeri’s first words.

“Who has questions?”

All hands flew up in the air.

One of the many questions asked of Jeri was

Fan: “Can you describe what difficulties you encountered joining the cast in the 4th season?

Jeri: It was very hard because the publicity revolving around the character 7 of 9 was intense and it caused friction among long-term cast members. Jeri felt that she could not turn down any publicity for her character, which in turn would help the show and the existing cast members.

7 IN 1: “First I would like to say that I absolutely admire you and I equate you with the late Jack Lemmon who had an incredible ability to do both comedy and dramatic roles extremely well.”

Jeri thanked 7 for the flattering comment and said it was nice of me to say that.

“Next, I would like to ask you what was your favorite episode on Voyager?”

Jeri said there were so many episodes that she liked and the audience started calling out their favorites and Jeri laughed and was amazed that the audience (especially 7 IN 1) knew the titles of the episodes.

Saarak:  “I heard before that you and some of the other cast members had a lot of fun on the set and I wanted to know what cast member was the most fun.”

Jeri said that the boys made her laugh especially Ethan and she got to the point that she couldn’t look at them directly and say her lines without cracking up. She said in a loving way that they were all a bunch of psychopaths!!

Jeri did fan friendly gestures such as, letting people come up to the stage to give her flowers, gifts and hugs (wish we had one, but not this time) and shared a lot of time with the audience.  Jeri also said that she thought the audience was friendly and polite and showed a lot of enthusiasm.  We think she stayed longer than expected because she was having a good time with all.   Jeri Ryan’s natural beauty really comes through the minute she walks on stage.

Meeting Jeri Ryan, seeing her in person and getting her autograph was truly AWESOME!

Now on to the “Dinner with the Stars”

All dressed up and somewhere to go!!!

Our convention room now became the dinner theatre where we ate a marvelous dinner, mingled with the stars in a photo session that will not be forgotten for a long time.

(All the time waiting for “The Fab Four” to arrive on stage)

Personal pictures were taken with following stars:

Babylon 5’s best looking captain:  Tracy Scoggins

Beautiful, friendly and always with a smile. Tracy was accompanied by her Mom which we thought was really sweet.

Judson Scott                        Claire Stansfield                      Celeste Yarnell

Leslie Hoffman                     Brian Williams                         Tom Morga

ENTER “FAB FOUR” FOR THEIR THEATRE PERFORMANCE

Roxann Dawson, Robert Picardo, Ethan Phillips and last but not least Robbie McNeill.

Several comedy skits were performed by the group, Robbie couldn’t contain his laughter.

All were stellar in their performances and we all had a good time.  It all came to an end too soon and Saarak and I headed off to the hotel lounge where we were later met up with Coffeegirl. We were sitting in the lounge and who comes through the door but “The Fab Four” wooooohooooo.  Psyched  - Star Struck – We’re ten feet away from our Idols!!!!

Of course being cool  - we sipped our drinks and stared and stared and stared from a distance.  (respecting their space and time).

Saarak while at the bar getting a drink Robert Picardo bumped into her with his elbow.  OH – SO COOL – Hasn’t washed her arm yet!!!

Well the remainder of the night we   ^^&*(*&%$$*&* and YI&OU_(*_(_($&%(*^%$@#$$(and then 88\*^*%$###&(@+_#))#(@#&.

Finally we left the lounge about 1:00 AM with the NOT BLIND LEADING THE BLIND AND THE BLIND.  Need we say more???

BOOK DEBUT & SIGNING

Sunday – August 5, 2001

7 IN I   - up and ready to go.  The Blind were still unconscious.

Breakfast for 7 IN 1 and then on to capture first place in line for the purchase and signing of Roxann Dawson’s and Daniel Graham’s second book in the Tenebrea trilogy   “Tenebrea’s Hope” After reading the first few pages of the new book we had goose bumps up and down our arms.  Looks like another winner …………

While waiting for Roxann Dawson, 7 IN 1 carried on an extensive conversation with Daniel Graham who 7 found to be very warm and friendly.

**********HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY**********

MEETING THE BEAUTIFUL AND CHARMING ROXANN DAWSON

About 11:30AM – Roxann Dawson came in and signed books.

1st book for 7 IN 1     woooooooooohoooooooo”

2nd book for Saarak    woooooooooohoooooooo”

****Needless to say we bought more than one copy****

Meeting Roxann Dawson close up and personal was a real thrill.  YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!

We took many photos of Roxann and Daniel signing the books for excited fans.

NOTE:  Roxann said,  “The second book is better and the third book is even better”.

AUTOGRAPHS / FAB FOUR ON STAGE

Row by row we filed up for autographs (we were in row 5)

Ethan Phillips – Roxann Dawson – Robert Picardo – Robbie McNeill

Saarak shook Roxann’s hand and said  “Thank you for seven years of Voyager”

Roxann said “Oh thank you very much”.

Saarak asked Robbie if she could shake his hand and he said “Oh certainly” then Saarak proceeded to embarrass him further (he turned red) when she told him he was even cuter in person.

7 IN 1 spoke to Ethan Philips about how great he looked since he lost 20 lbs.  He was very gracious and said thank you.

Another stage event by “The Fab Four” was a question and answer period where there was a lot of laughter, jokes and cutting up on each other, which we found very entertaining.  This segment was cut short to ensure ALL fans received an autograph.

Some newsworthy info:

Roxann Dawson will be directing episode seven of Enterprise and Robbie McNeill will be directing episode 11.

For Robbie fans  -  ROBBIE HAS A NEW HAIRDO  \\ California Surfer Boy Look //

If you can believe it – he’s even cuter with the new do!

The History Channel was filming the convention for a Sci-Fi special to be aired in December/January time frame.

Special Note from 7 IN 1:

Contrary to some of the negative comments made regarding Roxann Dawson I offer the following:

I found Roxann Dawson to be extremely fan friendly, sensitive to our needs as fans and made every effort to fulfill our expectations.  She was a sheer pleasure to meet.

7 IN 1, Saarak/nsr
