| MINK "Full Rock Power" CD Review Wow. This has to be the best local CD to ever come out, the best CD of the year, and one of the best CDs, period. All this comes from the lovley Mink. Since this monster of a album is such a monster, it's hard to talk about it unless you hear it. 1."Congratulations" This is just an intro track, but for what it is, it is very good. It's kinda' cool. Plus, it's good for a intro at concerts. 2."Lie To Me" The first real song and wow... what a song! This opens the album perfect. The dual guitars of Aljon and Andy rock, Johannes rocks the drums, Henry brings in the bass, and of course Jonda's voice is just amazing. This is one of my favorite songs on the album and I hope stays a staple as an opener at live shows because it fits so well like that! 3."You Didn't Know" This is a very cool song with some ska influence on the guitars. I like it a lot (just like every other song). It rocks hard and is great live. 4."You" This song also rocks very hard... big suprise! Yea, by this point on the album, you will have to be moving around to this great record. 5."My Star" This is the first single off the album and deserves it well. It stands out big time. It's a love song and in a way a ballad, but it still rocks your booty off! Jonda really shows off here. The video for this will be cool. 6."Maybe" It's got a little rap, a little funk, all Mink. This track stands out because it's differnt and really rocks. Plus, it was one of the first Mink songs I ever heard, so it has that value too. 7."How Could You?" This is an example of a good rock and roll song. I like it a lot. I could hear this on the radio. 8."Girl 17" This was the first song I ever heard from Mink and still holds up as a favorite. It is very powerful and has a cool video. This one is better than the one on the EP. It's even better live! 9."Candy Sweet" It starts out with a cool little key board part and goes into a great rock song. This one is really cool for some reason. It has really cool music and funky 80's sounding vocals. I like this one a lot, one of my all time favorites. 10."Don't Go" This song rocks just like all the others. Yea. Plus, Andy really shines on this with a little guitar solo. 11."God" Wow, a very powerful, dramatic song to end the album with! It is very good. There is a creepy kinda' feel to it which is cool. Great song. 12."Silver People" Weird album ender but still full rockin' power! Great! This album is wonderful, and if you don't own it yet, shame on you! Go get it, you crazy person. Needless to say, this is one of my favorite CDs! Get it now so you can say you had it before they were playing arenas! |
