| Mink Live @ 3rd & Lindsley Nashville TN 03-31-03 (With Pete Moon, Fluid Tuesday) | ||||
| The first Battle of Na$hvega$ was a great sucess. Mink, of course, won and the show was just oh so great. Now, it was time for the semi-finals of the Battle of Na$hvega$. The compitition was rather firce and it would be a show to remember. 3rd & Lindsley has become one of my favorite places to see Mink and other bands... especially when the place is packed. It was packed tonight. Pete Moon went on first. They play a brand of radio friendly rock like that of Live or Vertical Horizon. They play it well, and the show was pretty good. I loved the signer's pants! Anyway, the crowd had a just okay response to these guys, but they were good. Fluid Tuseday was next. These guys really rock pretty hard. They play a brand of rock n roll that is hard to describe. A little Black Crowes influence is there, but so are newer bands like Default or Filter. They put on a nice show, and the crowd got into it pretty good. Fluid Tuesday played a nice set; I wouldn't mind seeing them again. Finally, the mighty Mink, the headliners, came on. They tore the whole place apart. All the normal songs were in the set along with a new one "R U 4 Me?" It is a quite nice rock song and could be a big hit. As the crowd went crazier so did Mink. That's how rock should be. The short set went by and the crowd was begging for simply more, but sadly no more came. Oh well, it rocked. Of course, Mink won the battle and justly so. They are the best local band after all. Everyone knows that. I wouldn't want to be in a battle of the bands with them. |
