| MINK Live @ The End Nashville, TN (With MOKEYSLAP) | ||||
| It was a cold, rainy night. For most groups it would have not been worth leaving home for, but for Mink, it was well worth the trip! The End is a pretty good venue. It's a lot less stuffy than Windows on the Cumberland, and it's a great place to see a band. MOKEYSLAP started off the night. They played a set filled with a nice mix of covers and originals. The group has potential. They covered Nirvana's "Rape Me!" That makes me a very happy person since that's like my fav Nirvana song. They played for a a little less than an hour. Then, it was time for Mink! Mink stormed the stage, opening with "Girl 17." I hadn't seen them open with this in a while, and it is one of the most powerful opening songs around. From this point on, Mink tore through a set of the best music that Nashville (or most any place) has to offer. The thing that makes Mink so good is that they always seem to be having a good time. They never seem angry or hateful. Most every song off "Full Rock Power" and some new and old songs were played. Bass P came up for a song again. They played their better than the original cover of "Dancing Queen." This song rawks when Mink playes it! They closed with "My Star." It wasn't long before Mink came back to the stage due to many people yelling "We want Mink." They came back and tore through a few more songs including a cover of the Ah Ha song "Take On Me" with Aljon on vocals. They finally closed the show for the night with "God." The show was, over all, a great rock and roll concert that everyone should check out. The crowd was great, but it always is. Mink fans don't just like the band, they love them. Everyone see this band! If you don't, you will know what you missed in the small clubs when they play the areans soon. |
