Deep inside I feel that I am a Black Polish Jew... A Confucian, Christian, Buddhist... of Islamic persuasion. I am blessed to be "Made in the USA." But this day, it was written: I set before you a blessing and a curse:

I can, in essence, identify with those who call for a more 'humane' stewardship
on the part of Jewish clout in the world today
(and on the part of all other parties with excessive clout).
Please bare with me, into the response, below:

Jewish people have a lot of 'control' in this world.
They are truly blessed of God in order that all the world might be blessed
through them.
Can a Muslim or a Christian speak of our Jewish Heritage? Can we not speak of that heritage?
Can I speak as a Jew, of my Christian and Muslim sibblings? Do I blaspheme one, or the other, by claiming all.
Abraham begat the Arab, first; then the Jew. And all in Christ are Second Israel.
Friend, you say you have not given much thought to Jewish people (as an economic, social, cultural, and political force)? and to the clout they represent in the States (and worldwide) as a vested interest in the survival (and possible expansion) of Israel?
Their/Our suffering is great; has been great indeed.

Let us remember, indeed, our origins in Abraham, the Father of our faith, and the father of our brethren of a different fold.

Before I 'misrepresent' mySelf as anti-Semitic, or as being subject to the disreputable forces of reverse-racism... please allow me to qualify myself, thoroughly, as one who am proud (for the most part) of my Jewish ancestors (Black and White) and grateful for the heritage bequeathed by and through the faithful of that heritage.
That said, let me say that I am equally saddened by how many times, my Jewish ancestors have played the part of the stiff-necks to the hilt, how many times they have used the advantage of their call, and the air-tight identity it provided (for them to remain a "separate" and chosen people), to the detriment of those in whose presence they chose and/or were forced to live.
You ask for some data that he might back up these contentions that Jewish clout does, in fact, exercise excessive control over advertising and the media--and that they therefore have some inordinate amount of influence on shaping the values, desires, preferences, and market demands of the 'masses' (for lack of a better word).

While you might be tempted to ignore and disqualify this data because some of it sounds like racist/nazi characterizations (for surely the nazis were spouting some of the same observations); nonetheless, some of these observations stand on their own merit, and should not fold under the quite valid, yet at times over-played, apologetics of the Holocaust.
The Holocaust was heinous, unjustifiable, and just plain evil. But it should not be used as a club and a blinding shield to prevent us from seeing the part that Jews played in creating the conditions that allowed that sore to burst out upon the world. Nor should we allow the prolific outpouring of what some have called the Holocaust 'industry' to blind us to several other genocidal waves, some of which were instigated, in part, by Jewish clout.

Granted, I can not vouch for the veracity of every comment and every suggestion in these links. But there is enough of a pattern--and enough questionable motives, ways, and means involved--to make one wonder if better use could not be made of the considerable clout waved by a people so 'blessed'
As many as answer the call, we are all, metaphorically speaking, partakers of
the title, Israel.
Christians consider themselves a "second" Israel. And if you are something other
than Christian or Jew, you need only answer the call to be a "Third" Israel, of sorts.
(Sorry, this language may be offensive to our Jewish or Israeli brother.)
But yes, we are all the third Israel; if we do not consider ourselves counted
among the 1st, 2nd, Israel (though some of the adherents of other faiths have performed as
well as any of the "chosen"). Nonetheless, Israel and the Jews (where there is to
be a distinction) have yet a call to live up to... particularly if they base
their claim, to 're-claim' the holy land on the distinctive injunction that
"God gave this land to me."
Not everyone who speaks out so strongly and judgementally
against what our Jewish brother has made of his 'blessing' is speaking
with the venom of a Jew-hater. Rather, some are speaking with the same
anxiety that was in the bosom of every prophet who ever came to Israel.
As one who answers the call of the Third Israel, they would be merely voicing
with vigor the frustration (Korean "Han") of God: this day--my beloved,
my prefered (you nation of priests)--I set before you, yet again,
a blessing and a curse.
