The text Mark 5 deals with a man that had an unclean spirit. Webster would indentify it
as been possess. The word possess means to have, and hold as property. To own, or to take into
possession. This definition clearly allow us to see that this man did not have possession of his own
spirit. Being possess of the wrong spirit will cause you to do things that you in your right mind would
not ordinarly do. Not only will it change your behavior, sometimes being possess will change your
environment. Verse 3, states that this man had his dwelling among tombs. Dwelling comes from a
greek word that means residence, which means act or fact of dwelling or living in a place for a
period of time. This man residence was in a tomb where his surroundings are dead. There has to
come a time in our life when we are tiered of having tomb experiences. What are tomb experiences?
Tomb experiences is when your surroundings are dead: dead activities, dead prayers, dead friendships
dead jobs, dead hobbies, and having a tomb experience will soon lead to a dead in. Having a tomb
experience will not only change your enviroment, but rather it will also change your behavior.John
10:10 The thief come not but to kill, still and destroy I come that you may have life and have life
more abundantly.It is strange how some one who is under the influence of alchol, or drugs would totaly act out of charcter.For it is not them, they have become possess. In reading verse 3,4,5 it is so easy to look over that there were people who tried to tame him so that he would not hurt himself. One of the difficult things to handle
is that when you are possess, you are not the only person that you are hurting, but you are hurting those
who love you the most. This man had a problem not only was his environment a problem, and his behavior
was a threat to himself, verse five stated that he was always in the mountains and tombs crying. Verse
6 gives us an antidote for the problem.You have to come to Jesus for yourself. Verse 6 says when he saw
Jesus he worship, and in veres 7 unclean spirits began to cry out. The test of a man's growth in God
is his actions when the odds are against him. There has to come a time that you and I adapt that no matter
what the conditions are, what we are facing, I can worship God through this situation. True worship will
change a situation. True worship is not majoring in on the problem but rather the solution. True worship
is if God don't, He still is God. This man understood a true fact that worship gets God's attention.
He worship in verse 6, demons cried in verse 7, and healing took place in verse 8. Jesus ask him what is
your name. And they replied Legion for we are many. People of God you need not to be ingorant that there
are many types of evil spirits. Lying spirit, spirit of adultry, spirit of fornications, spirit of uncleanness
which means not pure, spirit of lasciviosuness wich means lust, spirit of idolatry, spirit of witch craft
spirit of hatred, spirit of variance means to debat, spirit of emulations means jealousy, spirit of wrath
spirit of strife, spirit of seditions means divison, spirit of heresies means to deny the truth, spirit of envy
spirit of murders, spirit of drunkenness, spirit of revelings taking in strong drinks, to let loose. There are
many other evil spirits, but just these few according to Galatians 6:21 those who possess these spirits
will not enter into the Kingdom of God.Epehsians 6:12 states" For we wrestle not aginst flesh and blood
but against principalities against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual
wickedness in high places. " Therefore, you must put on the whole armour of God so that you will be
able to stand against the wiles or the trickory of Satin. Jesus cast the unclean spirits into swins that were
near by, and the swins ran off a steep place in to a sea to drown. Those that had a custom of feeding the swines saw them run into the sea. They ran into the city, and to the country to tell, a man ruined the swin business. When they arrive to the place was Jesus was they found Him, and the man that was possess closed in his right mind.
