This section is basically designed to be a comprehensive (hopefully) guide to what's out there for wargaming WW II. I've decided to focus on this era, because it is one of the more popular eras, and I enjoy it the most. Below you will find a short description of each scale, and can link to a page that contains as much info as I have regarding that scale. Most of the opinions stated are mine, if they are someone elses, I will generally give credit to that person. If you have any personal experience or wish to add anything, please e-mail me. My only wish is that this is a useful resource to new gamers and old gamers alike. |

6mm Scale - Also known as 1/285 and 1/300 scale. This is the smallest scale I have knowledge of. It is cheap to build an army, but hard to paint and keep track of. It's also pretty hard to do any conversions. |
||||||||||
10/12mm Scale - Also known as 1/200, 1/180, and 1/160. Also goes by the N Guage name. This scale is still relatively cheap ($50.00 has you set up for a Battalion in Command Decision). It's the perfect fit for anyone who can't decide between 6mm and 15mm. |

15mm Scale - Also known as 1/100 scale. This scale makes painting as difficult or easy as you want. Small enough so that a battalion of tanks doesn't look ridiculous, but large enough to see for sure vehicle types. Fairly expensive, probably the most expensive scale to get into. |

20mm Scale - also known as 1/72, 1/76, and 1/87. Also goes by the HO Scale name tag. This is a cheap alternative for skirmishing. Easy to get, but the plastic stuff breaks easier. Painting is tricky sometimes, but can usually be remedied. Good scale for beginner's, as they are easy to find. |

25/28mm - also known as 1/48 scale. This is a popular skirmish level scale, but has a fairly limited range of vehicles at the moment. Large enough to be noticeable, but pretty expensive. Figures often look too Cartoony for me. Lugging around pounds of metal can be tiring, but can also give you an impressive physique. |
||||||||||
54mm - also known as 1/35 or 1/32 scale. This scale offers a lot of flexibility, a lot of detail, and takes more time. Painting sometimes can become a chore, but nicely done figures are very impressive. Prices vary, but this scale is fairly average. This scale requires a lot more space, and figures can be fragile. |
