The Pyro's Kiss

This poem begins a series of six that Laura and I wrote back and forth to each other. At the bottom of each is a link directly to the next in the series. Keep in mind that this was two months before we decided to officially call each other boyfriend and girlfriend. Our love was just beginning, just starting to grow. Now, looking back at everything we have, I realize that I have no regrets. I know I made all the right choices. I know my future is with my angel. Now before I bore you, here begins the birth of an immortal love.

You stand before me,
Your fear washed away by mine.
I am the monster,
You the thing I love.

Your body bathed in my eyes,
Perfect in imperfection.
Immortal now
Since my kiss has graced your throat.

Your fingers begin to flutter
Across my hollow chest;
Daggers to grasp an unbeating heart
And I willingly yield.

Eternal lips upon my neck
Seeking to return the kiss I gave
And through the passion
I see angelic wings.

A true kiss now,
And not the kiss of death.
Blood in your veins,
Fire in your touch.

Your kisses burn;
I yearn for the pain
And the ecstacy your lips draw from mine
To wake me from eternal sleep.

You complete me now
As your tongue explores my mouth,
My bloodstream turned to flame
From the angel I embrace.

Undying in your arms
And in the arms of Death,
My heart a blazing pyre,
And you my eternal love.
