Fast-Forward

A blissful dream opens,
Becomes a tortured nightmare.
Sunlight penetrates the darkness.
New eyes sense the flare
As they stare into the sun,
The shining eternal one.

The dream is ever growing,
The dreamer so nave.
He dances in the sunlight,
Reveling in the life he received.
His eyes are blinded by the sun,
The friendly eternal one.

Our dreamer keeps on dreaming
And nothing seems to change.
The sunlight is growing hotter,
His heart he'll soon engage.
Yet he's hiding from the sun,
The torching eternal one.

Two dreams become intertwined
As love from his heart is shed.
The sunlight fades into the distance
While he decides to share his bed.
In lust, he cannot see the sun,
The brilliant eternal one.

The dream is joined anew
By a dream that's just begun.
The sunlght blinds them both.
What happened to all the fun?
Our dreamer curses the sun,
The hateful eternal one.

But the dream just never ceases,
Though everything begins to die,
And the sunlight's not so strong.
Moving slow, the world flies by
As he searches for the sun,
The mocking eternal one.

The dream is getting tired,
The dreamer old and gray.
The sunlight slowly fades away
And ends out dreamer's day.
And he still cannot see the sun,
The deadly eternal one.

The dream is just a memory,
For the dreamer is in his grave.
He hated life, he hates his death;
His soul could not be saved.
But he can finally see the sun,
The damned eternal one.
