Hello and Welcome to our small, family operated farm. My name is April Penzien and I run our 10 acre farm here in Ray, Michigan. Don't look for us on any map though, because you'll never find us. We are about 1 hour north of Detroit and 1 hour west of Port Huron. I live here with my husband Tom, our two children Eddie and Jamie. My husband owns and operates two golf courses here in Michigan, and he still doesn't know which of my horses are geldings, mares or stallions. That's okay though, because I think a birdie is an animal that flies. My mother Ethel, lives with us as well and most people can't tell our voices apart on the phone. Our son Eddie is soon to be 12 years old and is going in the 7th grade. The scary part is he is already taller than me. Jamie is our daughter; and she is 10 years old and showed at AMHR Nationals in 2002. She came home with several top ten awards herself. Residing here as well are our two cats and our beloved Border Collie, Belle. I am in the 40's age bracket where hot flashes and night sweats are a daily occurrence.
I started in miniatures in 1998, and since then God has blessed us with four live, healthy, happy foals. We have shown in fairs and in AMHR shows as well, and have done well and had FUN! Our whole family went to the 2002 AMHR Nationals where our beloved gelding Britto, came home with 8 top ten wins. We are a traditional family who believes in God and praise him for all our blessings.
