live ... a dream of sound!! You can really hear the happiness
of the four boys singing and playing here. Real good hand-made

Tja, frisch aus
der ZOMBA-Plattenschmiede, die neue Cover-Maxi-CD der Mini Beats,
herausgekommen am 2. Oktober 2000. Inhalt: Twist and Shout in
vier Versionen: 1. als Radio Edit (zu Deutsch: die Version,
die im Radio laufen soll), 2. Unplugged Version, 3.Extended
Version, 4. Alternative Media-Version. 1., 3. und 4. klingen
sehr �hnlich. Ehrlich gesagt: diese moderne Version von Twist
and Shout klingt nach Meinung des Kritikers etwas zu technisch,
zu sehr nach Einheitsbrei vergleichbar mit anderer g�ngiger
Musik. Diese Fassung klingt nicht mehr so nat�rlich. Die gro�e
St�rke der Mini Beats liegt aber gerade in Spontaneit�t und
Nat�rlichkeit, die hier v�llig auf der Strecke bleibt. Wohltuend
hebt sich die Unplugged Version ab, richtig handgemachte Musik.
Am allerbesten ist aber immer noch die Fassung, wie sie auf
der ersten CD "Get Back" gespielt und gesungen wird.Die Mini
Beats m�ssen aufpassen, dass ihre gute Qualit�t, nicht einem
"Tralala-Geschmack" geopfert wird. Die Musik der Beatles war
und ist hochkar�tig, und die Mini Beats sind doch angetreten,
die musikalische Qualit�t ihrer Vorg�nger hoch zu halten! ...
Sehr h�bsch ist das 5. Lied dieser Maxi-CD, welches von Leads�nger
Philip und seinem Vater zusammen im Stil der Beatles getextet
und vertont wurde: "My Life" ....
Well, fresh
out of the oven at ZOMBA Records... the new cover-maxi-cd of
the Mini Beats, which came out on October 2nd, 2000. Contents:
four versions of "Twist and Shout": 1) Radio Edit, 2)Unplugged
Version, 3) Extended Version, 4) Alternative Media Version.
1), 3) and 4) sound very similiar. Honestly: to the opinion
of the reviewer those modern versions sound too "technical",
too much "same old soup" compared to lots of low quality music
titles nowadays. This version does not sound so natural any
longer. The great strength of the Mini Beats though is in their
spontaneity and natural way of playing music and singing. This
natural way is completely gone in these versions. A lot better
is the unplugged version which comes closest to what the Mini
Beats really stand for. The best version of "Twist and Shout"
is still to be found on their first CD "Get Back". The Mini
Beats must be careful to not sacrify their natural approach
to a "Tralala-taste" which is so common in lots of music nowadays.
The Beatles' music was and still is of very high quality, and
the Mini Beats stand for continuing the great predecessors'
tradition. Very nice is the fifth song on this cd, "My Life",
made by leadsinger Philip and his father.
