Report by Publicity Officer, Maryborough Harness Club:- Not to be upstaged by other first time competitors to Gunalda, 'Phantom' and Sue Flavel decided that the action needed more excitement as 'Phantom' was by now getting quite bored with all his waiting around for his turn to compete, so put on a show for all to take notice of him at last! While competing in the "Witch's Weave", as the Ring Master was giving his usual commentary of the competing horse in each event, just as 'Phantom' got level with the ground's loudspeakers, he heard the Announcer say 'Little Phantom'-- yes, 'Phantom' responded by standing up on his hind legs in the sulky to show all and sundry in the crowd: Hey, I'm the Little Phantom, much to the surprise of Sue who flipped out sideways from the miniature sulky and landed on the ground, still with reins in hand and with total control still of the little 'Show Pony'; resplendent as usual to arise with hat, glasses, earrings and dignity still all intact, all to applause of the crowd as they quickly recovered and continued on regardless to compete the course.
