How To Make A Pumpkin

What you need: A piece of foam plastic, sharp pair of scissors, some polyester thread and a needle, orange paint (preferably acrylic) and a bit of green string.

Cut the foam into the shape of a sphere. Make a large knot on one ond of the thread to make sure it does not slip through the foam when you sew. Insert the needle through the foam ball.

Go right round the foam ball and put the needle through it again, going in at the knot and coming out at the same place as before.

Tighten the thread so as to make a groove on the surface of the foam ball.

Continue taking stitches like this. Space them apart from each other to make a surface like a pumpkin. When finished, either tie the thread to the other end of the thread where you made the knot, or take a small stitch either at the top or bottom of the pumpkin and make a knew knot. Cut off the ends of the threads.

Paint your pumpkin orange. It may need more than one layer of paint. When the paint has dried, glue a piece of green string on top to make the stem.
