How To Make The Garden Plot

What you need: Brown knitting wool and two knitting needles, piece of cardboard, assorted bits of green threads (embroidery cottons are good) and a needle.

Cut the cardboard into a square of the size you want your bear's garden plot to be. Knit a slightly larger square from the brown wool. Make some plants from the green threads as the picture illustrates. Stitch short pieces through the knitted square and back again, and tie the ends together.

You can use several lenghts of thread for one plant to make them larger. Trim the tops of the plants neatly. Remember to leave some space for the other plants if you are going to make them!

Place the cardboard on the back of the garden plot, so the plants are facing away from the card, and fold the edges of the knitting over the cardboard.

Attach the knitting to the cardboard, using glue or sellotape, or by stitching with brown thread and a darning needle.
