How To Make The Drum

What you need: A short cardboard or plastic tube, or a piece of cardboard, fabric, needle and embroidery thread, two cocktail sticks and two round beads.

Cut a piece of the cardboard or plastic tube. Alternatively, cut a strip of cardboard and sellotape the ends together to make a ring.

Cut two circles of fabric, just a bit larger than the cardboard ring. Trim the edges so they won't fray. You can do this by sewing a zig zag round the edges on the sewing machine or by dipping the edges into a mixture of glue and water. Place one circle underneath the cardboard ring and the other one on top.

Sew the two circles together, taking long stitches over the outside of the cardboard ring.

To make the drumsticks, cut the two cocktail sticks so they are the proper length. Press a bead onto the sharp end of each stick.
