My Odd Gong, blame the 'Interweb' !
Myspace has a lot to answer for and My Odd Gong is one! Ming The Mong stumbled across the Dodgy Demo Club or did Dodgy Demo Club stumble across Ming The Mong? I can't remember which way but it matters not one clumsily spilt slosh of Bishops Finger really does it, via the pixel highway. Gushing cyber tittle-tattle was exchanged before DDC hurled a monster of a riff in MtM's direction. 'Muppet Workshop' evolved via the www and Mong's laptop and a long forgotten about mic picked up from Deptford market way back in another decade, maybe even another dimention judging by the look and sound of it. The four mins-ish epic Mong rantathon appeared on Ming The Mong space and recieved many a cyber slap (hit) which prompted a few more musical gems to be energized Mong's way via the Norfolk branch of the www. Among these nuggets lay the 'The Dance Of The White Monkey' a sparkling instrumental jaunt then housed on the DDC Myspace page which Mong siezed upon in a flash to shelter an ode to backpackers, a long forgotten bile-based ramble which had been hidden away in the Slouch* archive of songs which were never quite finished and never would be, it topped the pile and was extremely happy to find itself a permanant home at last or at least a house share with the white monkey.
