Smokers Logic
How many times do we want to quit smoking? How many times have we been
told how bad it is for our health? Most doctors ask you if you smoke
and if so how much. Now I have come up with an answer to that question
based on some simple math.
On average most smokers smoke a pack a day. That's 36.5 cartons or 365
packs or 7300 cigerattes a year.
Now on a daily basis how many cigarettes do we light and let burn away?
....either we forget them or simply just like having that lit ciggy
burning away in the ashtray. I found on average we let 3 cigarettes
go up in smoke without enjoying them.
That's an average of 1095 cigarettes a year 54.75 packs and 5.475 cartons.
Also how many cigarettes do we hand out to friends and family who either
didn't bring their own, have run out unexpectedly, or who are to dang cheap to buy their own?
On average we give out 10 cigarettes a week to family friends and moochers.
That's 520 cigarettes, 16 packs or 4/5 cartons a year.
Now let's not forget how many packs we end up misplacing or leaving on the table at work.
On average we misplace 1/2 pack of cigarettes every 2 weeks. That's 240 cigarettes 120 packs and 6 cartons a year!
Also (and I hate this when it happens!) how many times do we light the wrong end of a cigarette or it breaks in half???
Well I've found that on average we tend to do one or the other or both at least once out of every 20 cigarettes.
That's 365 cigarettes, 18.25 packs or roughly 9/10's of a carton a year!
Now for the biggie!!! How many of these cigarettes do we actually inhale?? I've found that on average we only smoke 1/2 of these offending sticks the rest is burnt away in the ashtray!
That means 3650 cigarettes 182.5 packs or 18.25 cartons a year go up in smoke!
So after adding up all these figures???
By my calculations a person buying a pack a day is actually smoking
only 1430 cigarettes or 71.5 packs or 7.15 cartons a year!
So my friends that's only 3.917 cigarettes a day!!! Now that ain't a habit so much as a hobby now is it?? *grins*
Well I hope this has been somewhat informative....now if you'll excuse me I think I'll go and enjoy a smoke. :)
