deep, some dark, full of fear
and my lips burst
with the need to say them aloud

We live our love in a world
of dreams and non realities
are you content with that?

We love blindly

In a real world romance
these questions are answered
by everyday actions and expressions
the look in a lovers eyes
the gentle caress of a fingertip
of just being physically together

Instead we rely on words
typed out hoping to express
our emotions...our love
but there is still an emptiness
that can only be filled
by physical touch.

And so the fears remain
locked in my soul
unanswered, unspoken

Nightmare

night settles upon turmoiled thoughts
twisting in my head as I echo
the same movements upon the sheets
restless meanderings demanding attention
my conscious fighting to still them
refusing to bid them entry
but they creep insidiously into dreams
as weariness falls prey to sleep
here in dreams they rule
here they are powerful
here they begin the onslaught
dreams once pleasant begin to darken
panic creeps slowly across the scene
twisted shadows taking form
become the demon army
equipped with daylight fears
stabbing relentlessly at logics defenses
yes this could happen
this could be reality
sweat drenched bedding wrapping itself
around thrashing limbs
fear unleasing it's ultimate weapon
awake! it's only a dream
a nightmare not reality
pounding heart and rapid breath
and slowly the scene fades
once more to try and face the night
closed eyes shut tight fighting
to keep the nightmare at bay
