Unconditionally
with a touch
with a gaze
with a whisper
you caress me
.
with a smile
with a laugh
with a song
you enrapture me
.
with a word
with a kiss
with a promise
you hold me
.
with your body
and your heart
and your soul
you love me
unconditionally
Writer's Block
Everything is locked up inside.
I struggle to find words
that I know are there,
but no matter how hard I try
and stuggle to relinguish them
they refuse to surface.
.
I cannot seem to find exactly
what I want to say.
I feel impotent and frustrated
that what once seemed so easy
is now a battle that seems lost.
.
Where are my allies?
Words that could conquer the page
they seem to have fled,
leaving me alone and empty.
.
What good to write
if there is nothing
worth saying?
.
Blank pages torment me
frustrate and taunt me.
.
Where have the words gone?
The Box
The box sat quietly
forgotten by most
high up in the attic
it held her lifes' ghosts.
It waited for years
to roll slowly on by
to tell again it's secrets
for ghosts never die.
The years came and went
she got married, had kids
and the box kept her secrets
from where it was hid.
Sometimes late at night
up the stairs she would creep
and stare at the box
bitter tears on her cheeks.
And the box remained silent
as the years fell away
the house became still
and her hair turned to gray.
While alone slowly rocking
in her chair one day
she looked up to heaven
for forgiveness and prayed.
Slowly she climbed
the stairs once again
and took from the attic
that symbol of sin.
And setting the box
on a table nearby
she opened the lid
and tears filled her eyes.
She carressed each item
and the memories came
flooding her soul
and easing her pain.
A packet of letters
tied with a bow
and one written to him
on the bottom below.
The letter from her
though had never been sent
and it contained the secret
the ghosts of her torment.
She touched next the blanket
her baby had worn
the one she had'nt kept
the one she still mourned.
Her tears rolled down
as she remembered that day
taking the powder
to make it all go away.
In agony she cried
alone giving birth
to a premature baby
to small for this earth.
Then placing it gently
into the soft ground
and turning away
knowing it would'nt be found.
Silently weeping new tears
she sank to the floor
and begging forgiveness
her life was no more.
A Window
they say the eyes
are a window to your soul
if that is so
then gaze into my window
what do you see?
I know what I am reflecting
I'm reflecting all of the
love that you give me
back a thousand times
like a prism throws
colors upon the wall
so the next time
you gaze into my eyes
and through that window
to my soul
just remember that
everything you see
is because you love me
and I'm returning it
back to you
Back
