The Concert

When two lovers meet
the concert then begins
a concerto of music
played upon the wind

A symphony of movement
heartbeats a metronome
sighs become a chorus
whispered words a lyric poem

bodies wrapped in harmony
slowly a crescendo builds
orchestrated rhythms
the music quickly melds

into a single rhapsody
of melody and of song
the tempo slowly quickens
carrying them along

bodies becoming a duet
perfect instruments of love
straining for the perfect note
reaching for the heavens above

like cymbals clashing together
the song of ecstasy pervades
and held there in a drawn out note
then passions music slowly fades

becoming a muted tune
of soft kisses and of sighs
a sad mournful refrain
as the lovers say goodbye

Sometimes

Sometimes you have to take the leap
and fear not the fall.
Sometimes you just have to react when
your heart hears the call.

Sometimes the struggle doesn't seem
worth all the pain.
Sometimes you find you lose more
than you would have gained.

Sometimes life plays cruel jokes
expecting you to laugh
Sometimes you have to pay the piper
and choose another path.

And sometimes you find what you've
always been missing.
Sometimes it works out that way.
Sometimes........

Ashes

That is all you left for me.
What once burned so hot
now grows cold.
Once beautiful now
reduced to sooty grey.
I thrived on dancing
within the heat with you.
Now I am left to pick through
charred remnants finding
nothing resembling what we
once were.
Did we blaze to hot
and to fast?
I envisioned us growing old
and keeping warm
in the embers red hot
from our passion.
Now I see that you
are dancing in anothers fire,
while I sit here among the ashes.

Loves Legacy

In a kingdom long ago we are taught,
A heavenly placed they called Camelot.
A handsome king his queen a lady fair,
her beauty told beyond compare.
With round table knights Chivalrous and bold,
And Merlins magic so we're told.
A wonderous place filled with happiness,
no other land has come close sense.
Sadly the tale takes an unhappy turn,
And from this hopefully we all learn.
For with deception lies and deceit,
The bravest knight and queen would meet.
The good king knew not of this,
That the knight and queen spent time in bliss.
Each loving the other forsworn and true.
But guilt did sway the lovers who,
Tried to quell their love for fear,
Of hurting the king they both held so dear.
But as we know true love is strong,
And they could not hold out for long.
But soon spiteful rumors did reach the king,
And with heavy heart he did bring,
The queen and good knight before his throne,
And asked them both for their guilt to atone.
But seeing the love upon their face,
The queens hand in the knights he placed.
And bid them well and long life too,
So even though he loved both still.
He could not impose on them his will.
The queen and knight forever more,
Though filled with love it tainted sore.
And the king was left to reign alone,
Grieved evermore til life his was done.
And Camelot faded into infamy,
A testament to love's true destiny.
So heed the tale and know it true,
Sometimes love doesn't play fair with you.
