Over the past year there has been much discussion and input as to how we can ensure that this monument truly reflects the efforts and sacrifices of all miners. Some people have mentioned that they would like to have the opportunity to list a friend or relative that worked hard all their lives in the mines and retired safely or someone now working in the industry. Others for an opportunity to list the names of great people in mining who are no longer with us. Still others are looking for ways to openly express their words of support for this project.
It is with this in mind that we have come up with an opportunity for individuals and businesses to have their thoughts expressed in their own words. Those words will become part of history, engraved on tags affixed to claim posts as part of the monument. The claim post has long been a symbol in the mining industry of taking a chance and working towards a goal. But more than this the claim tag is a visual record of those who made the effort and took that challenge to be part of something that would one day be something great. We invite you to fill in your claim tag, to provide your visual record, to be part of something great ! A monument for the whole world to see dedicated to our workers in the mining industry.
