Living in suburbia can leave you trapped with way too many hours to kill. That's why in my travels around town I've discovered ways to escape from the confines of tract housing and green lawns.

Getting out in nature (if that still exists) is one of the best ways to clear your mind. There are many places to go here, since I am priviledged enough to live within easy access of both the beach and mountains.

My favorite places to go are:

Inspiration Point-

this is one of the most beautiful sites in Santa Barbara. You drive up mission canyon all the way to the top, and take the trail high up into the hills. Last time I went there with Jenn, and we searched for the elusive 3 pools where you can swim, but had no luck finding it. Inspiration point itself is definitely worth the effort it takes to get there, but be sure to bring lots of water and dress lightly (I like to go in a swimsuit).

The Beach-

I love the beach though it is quite polluted. There are many beaches around that are quite unpopulated and beautful. I take my dog to the beach and he goes swimming while I read or go for a run.
