Today was pretty good. Yesterday I wasn't feeling very happy because of some stuff at home. I didn't have Deutsch today because we had the senior magazine assembly. I finished my painting of the finger, it is due tomorrow. I was pleased with how it turned out, painting always makes me incredibly happy. I just wish I had more time to do it. I was even more pleased because my mom hated it-that is the sign that it is good. I'm going to hang it on the wall of my room.
Jenn picked me up for Environmental Bio tonight and we laughed about how much traffic there was getting out of Goleta. Everyone was leaving the good land. I got perfect on my essay, so that was nice. We haven't gotten our tests back yet but I felt pretty good about it. I usually do well on essay tests.
We learned that China is going to have an environmental crisis very soon. The Chinese government is building a 1.25 mile wide dam-the largest dam ever.
The troublesome part is that the dam is being built on a fault line and the resulting lake will fill in a valley, displacing 2 million people and covering toxic hard metals used in factories there. And in 50 years the dam will be so sediment laden that it will be completely full of mud.
The same thing is happening with dams all over the world. On the way home from class queen came on the radio so Jenn and I were excited. I showed her the neighbourhood crime watch sign near the creek and she went back to look at it because she had never seen one before. On the way to class we drove past Clara going to Buzz's house, but she didn't see me waving.
My mom is finally buying food that I can eat tomorrow, I've been eating plain rice for a week because we don't even have tofu. Hilary and Clara sent me the same personality test, when I first took the test I got introverted submissive concrete healer, and then I took it again and got accountant. When I took it the second time the pictures didn't load so I just answered the last part randomly. Now I'm going to go for a run.
