5 June 2002     The Jokebox has entered the building

Yep, that's right - Grog has finally managed to purchase his dream - a Jokebox in full working order. And boy is it gonna need to be in tip-top condition, given Grog's love affair with the Stepney/Windsor Gardens ICA versions. So Cheryl, I hope you've said your goodbyes, packed him his lunch and told him to send let Henry out of the garage at least once a week for a stretch. I'm fearing we may not hear from Grog for a while. However, with this purchase, will this see the end of re-runs of 'Chirpy, Chirpy, Cheep, Cheep' and the like, every Toosday night at Stepney?? With Gadj, Schlang and Shark absent, and Grog getting his fix at home, this could be the en..........oh, hang on a sec, we still have Rydy don't we?? Rydy, the batton has been passed onto you mate!!

1 May 2002     Chookless Heads website launched

After what must now be years of anticipation, the Chookless Heads Sporting club has finally gone technical and entered the world wide web. An official launch took place at Stepney ICA last Tuesday night, with absolutely no computer to be seen (how else would you launch a mediocre website). So rather than see the real thing, we had to make up the 'oooohhhh' and 'aaaaahhhh' sounds. I'm sure it will be a successful adventure.

Adam Ant (who only recently hit the headlines as becomming a jailbird) narrowly won from Bon Jovi's 'Blaze of Glory'.

The event was commemorated with a little shinding at Brenton & Karens house on Easter Sunday. After sining their way through 100 somgs in the same calibre as the two above, the neighbourhood will not be the same. The final top 10 was:

5 March 2002     All Chookie Teams make finals

In the first season back at Stepney ICA all 4 Chookie teams have made it to the finals. After Grog pointed out before the games 'watch us go zip from 4', he was almost spot on. If it wasn't for Funky's 16th over heroics, sending the cricket match into overtime (from which a victory occurred), then it would have been a clean sheet for the Chookies.

Well done to all teams. Good luck for the new season.

November 2001     Num Nums makes TV debut

In what has been another first for the Chookies, TV stardom has arrived. Ned Kelly's restaurant out at Ingle Farm invited a group of Chookies along to 'star' in their TV commercial. For his good looks, and dick laugh, Num Nums was selected for a 3 second (laughing chook) face shot as part of the commercial. The ad is still running strong, mostly in the graveyard shift at night. If anyone hasn't seen it, and is keen to view it, contact Funky.
