| The Optimist Club of Minden Nebraska | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| History of our Club Through the hard work and dedication of many area men, and the Optimist Club of Kearney, Nebraska, our local club was founded on May 22, 1973. This year marks our 33rd Anniversary. Over the years we have seen our membership rise and sometimes fall. Currently we have about 80 men and women in our club. In 1995 we started building a new park in Minden. It contains a baseball/softball diamond and soccer fields. In 1996 we dedicated the park to Augie Nelson, one of the most influential members we have had. We are one of the strongest and most active Optimist Clubs in the Nebraska District of Optimist International. |
