IRONWOMAN RACES page 2
This pic is very special to me because three of the four horses are Dept of Agriculture breeding. In fact George Thompson, Hawkesbury Ag College Stud HeadGroom, until his death,my teacher and adopted granddad, had a hand in the breeding of all three.  The bay mare  is Hawkesbury Jade ridden by Raelene French.  The Chestnut mare with the blaze on the right is Tocal Blaze (particularly original name) ridden by Allison Callighan, and the grey on the left is Aeneas ridden by myself.  From a field of 14 staters these three finished in the first five.  A tremendous tribute to George and the horses of the Department of Agriculture,  isnt it?
As you can see Blaze, and I think Jade were ahead of me but Blaze's weak point was the tyres. In the rush I cant remember how we passed Jade as I can assure you Raelene gives no quarter as endurance riders are now beginning to know.
This is my all time favourite photo. It Won the Scone Horseweek Festival Photo Competition.
I found this photo in the photographers  rubbish bin along with all the other blurred ones. To me it says so much I still didnt know if the cancer op had been successful so to me this pic shows the blurry picutre of the future, is the wave of green misting over his rump the cancer trying to catch him?
The Pink at each of my shoulders is from the flames of the fires almost completly obscured by the smoke.  Needles to say it never got thrown out as she had intended and I entered it in the Scone Horse Week Festival Competition.
