Crimson Sands : Abilities list
Innate Abilities (automatically priority 'A' for all characters.)
Athletics (V) : Running, jumping, climbing trees.
Reaction (I) : Dodging, reflexes and other quick motor response stuff.
Resist (R) : Toughness, willpower, fighting disease, poison, etc.
Stay Up (*) : Equivalent to "damage save"; the ability to stay on your feet no matter
what kind of psychological or physical pain you're suffering.
Artistic Abilities
Freeload (I) : The ability to survive by mooching off of friends and patrons.
Create (I) : Create art of whatever type(s) suit your character - weaving, sculpture,
carving stone or glass, etc.
Storytelling (R) : Pretty obvious. Telling stories and making them convincing, stirring
or both.
Music : Playing instruments and/or singing.
Craft Abilities
Complex Crafts (R) : Mosaic, glassblowing, cooking, working with obscure artefacts of ancient
Tan Silat.
Fine Crafts (R) : Leatherworking, woodworking
Rough Crafts (R) : Stonecutting, forging, etc.
Haggling (I) : Getting a good deal in barter.
Fighting
Battle (R) : Use of tactics and knowledge of what to do on a battlefield.
Bash & Hold (V) : Wrestling, grappling, feats of strength.
First Aid (R) : How to patch up someone's war wounds.
Scrapping (I) : Fighting unarmed and with improvised weapons - knives, barstools, severed
limbs, et al.
Illicit Abilities
Deceit (R) : Lies, damned lies and other forms of persuasion.
Stealth (I) : The importance of not being seen.
Streetwise (R) : Knowing where to buy drugs, black market items and how to recognize the
criminal element and avoid the law.
Theft (I) : The skill of relieving the undeserving of their possessions.
Outdoor Abilities
Aim (V) : Hitting things at a distance with thrown objects, spears, bolas, etc.
Desert Lore (R) : Knowledge of the myths, and realities of life in the Crimson Sands.
Ride (I) : Handling a camel, pony, giant lizard or other beast.
Survival (R) : Knowing how to get from one oasis to the next without succumbing to the desert.
Priestly Abilities
Counsel (R) : Helping others deal with psychological issues by giving them advice. Functions as
social/psychological first aid.
Discern Truth (R) : Figuring out when you are being lied to.
Orate (I) : Friends, Timorans, countrymen...
Pray (V) : The ability to butter up a God (or Gods) by performing ritual obeisances.
Social Abilities
Cutting Wit (I) : Mock, diss and disconcert your enemies with your scathing banter.
Etiquette (R) : Knowing who's who and how to get their help in polite society.
Savoir Faire : Used to charm and seduce, and generally be a smoothie.
Sway : The ability to persuade others through conversation, often without their knowing
about it.
