The Ritsuko in our minds: A beautiful lady who is cool and intellectual. She is one of a handful of people who knows NERV's true purpose. She has a deep understanding of both the Evangelion units and the MAGI system at NERV. As a scientist, she is very anticlerical and comes across as detached and unsympathetic. In the series, she is involved in a one-way relationship with Gendou. She always seems strong, but she can still shatter.

The Shinji in Ritsuko's mind: Shinji is just a pilot and as long as it is necessary she will use him.

The Ritsuko in Shinji's mind: Ritsuko is just a scientiest in his eyes.
