A serious power failure cripples Tokyo-3 and NERV as the new Angel attacks. As Gendou and Ritsuko try to ready the Evangelions for battle with no electronic equipment, Shinji, Asuka and Rei must crawl through underground tunnels to find their way to the launch bays. They get to the Evangelions and with only five minutes of power, they climb to the surface and defeat the Angel. Misato is given a promotion and this is a time of celebration and reflection for her. She reexamines the event that lead to her joining the secret organization knows as NERV. This is also a time for Shinji and Misato to reflect on there feeling about their fathers.
