| CMENC University of Minnesota October 24, 2000 Executive Meeting Minutes Ferguson Hall, Room 157 Executive Members Present: Lynn Marano, Molly Colten, Stacy Brake, Julie Lingle 1. Meeting commenced: 7:05 pm, under direction of Lynn Marano 2. Recruitment of members: a. Lynn Marano talked to Molly Colten about e-mailing former members who did not apply this year to make sure they knew when applications were due 3. Spring Clinic Ideas: talked about voting on ideas at a general meeting a. For sure one about interviews and/or resumes b. multi-ensemble: how to work with a choir when you are a band director and vice versa c. fundraising: teachers to talk about fundraising projects they have done d. administrative issues involved with teaching music e. assembling portfolios, resumes and the process of interviewing 4. Recruitiment of executive candidates: a. Lynn Marano, idea to be on the lookout for people we think would make good exec. candidates and talk to them about positions b. President elect position being offered now: 2 year commitment, 1 for being trained, 1 as taking over President position c. clarify positions: many people think it will be too time consuming 5. Jobs of secretary: discussing with new secretary, Julie Lingle a. discussed keeping track of meeting minutes b. newsletter: Dr. Teachout discussed that it is assembly of reports given by committee chairpeople and himself c. discussion of possibility of e-mailing meeting minutes to members 6. Future executive meetings: a. discussion of inviting committee heads to some of the meetings 7. Committee sign-ups a. next year: provide place on application to indicate committee preference to eliminate the hassle of getting everyone to sign up |
