General Meeting Minutes

1. Meeting commence: 7:00 pm, under direction of Lynn Marano
2. Officer elections
a. ballots will be posted on November 29th on the MENC bulletin board
b. results will be counted on Decemeber 4th and announced on the 5th
3. Next week's clinic with Michael Hiatt, Director of Professional Development at the Perpich Center for
Arts Education
a. Dr. Teachout discussed the Perpich Center for the Arts
1. influence on the legislature
2. teacher workshops
3. setting up internships for U of M undergraduates
b. ideas for Mr. Hiatt to talk about at clinic
1. public school vs. arts school
2. what goes on at the Perpich Center
c. publicity
1. post signs for clinic around School of Music
2. send e-mails to members
4. Eddie Bauer fundraiser
a. discussed that money goes to MENC and you can get an employee discount the day you work
there
b. need people to sign up for shifts on Saturdays and Sundays before Christmas
c. sign-up sheets were passed around during meeting
5. Announcments for near future
a. will need people to work for the MMEA Clinic: get paid and get into the clinic for free
b. Gunter Schuller convocation on December 1st, 2000
