| University of Minnesota CMENC Executive Board Meeting Room 157 Ferguson Hall March 6, 2001 I. Meeting commenced at 7:05 under directino of Lynn Marano Executive members present: Carrie Backman, Steve Schmitz, Tark Katzenmeyer, Lynn Marano II. Discussion of upcoming forums. Plans for some vocal music forums are underway for either this year or next year. Otherwise, the University Band, Jazz Band II and Symphonic Band forums will take place. Anyone who conducted last semester is ineligible to conduct. III. Professor Luckhardt's clinic is at 7:00 on March 13 in room 107. It is about his unique use of student leadership. Please come to this interesting talk. IV. Discussed the April clinic and decided that a "new teacher panel" would be a good thing to do that day. Teachers will be contacted for this April 3 date. V. A. Some definite plans for next year's clinics were made. We will be communicating with Wendy Barden (an administrator specializing in music for the Osseo schools), the new choral music education person, Kathy Saltzman-Romey, Dr. Eugene Rosseau and TIME (Technology in Music Education; a group dividing itself into seven branches. WE hope to get some TIME representatives to come to the U to give a clinic). Any other ideas you want considered should be emailed to board memebrs. B. The tentative clinic dates for next year for Fall are: September 25, October 21, November 19. For Spring: February 5, March 5, April2 and April 30. VI. Dr. Haack's end of the year barbeque/party is scheduled for May 4. Get the word out about this event. Check your email in the coming weeks for your group's food or beverage assignment. VII. Fundrasing was brought up. The lesson fundraiser is sitll in the works, being approved by the administrators. VIII. Meeting adjourned 8:10. |
