          a. Mr. Hiatt's personal background

          d. discussed thinking of music education as a profession and an art form

          a. Andy Richter: how to bring energy to you program
                   1. Response: kids need to find their niche and are drawn to music becuase it's small and the
                       teachers care-therfore, think of ways to break things down and nurture students
          b. Jaime Thomalla: is there crossing over of arts disciplines in the Perpich Center
                   1. Response: one weakness of the school, but there is a period in the middle of the week for
                       students to explore other arts areas
          c. Betsy Kerns: why no large ensembles
                   1. Response: limited number of people because there are 300 students split equally among the 6
                       arts areas
6. Dr. Teachout's reasons for inviting Mr. Hiatt to give clinic
          a. challenge members present to think of ways to create the same energy in arts school in a more
              traditional school setting
