Eurobrun was formed by businessman Walter Brun at the start of the 1988 season. The team was part of the new wave of normally aspirated Ford V8 "no-hopers" who floated around at the back of the grid. In 1989, once faced with pre-qualifying, they rarely made it into the races, as there were many more small teams vying for one of the few remaining spots on the grid. The team managed to survive until late 1990, despite having no respectable results. The team did not have enough money left to make the trip to Japan, and the team folded. Luckily for their driver, Roberto Moreno, he was able to land a drive at Benetton replacing the injured Alessandro Nannini, and ended up finishing in second position in his first race for the team, something that he never could have dreamed of doing in a Eurobrun.
