To become stronger! The beautiful singer in danger

A girl no older than 19 with fluffy blond hair and pink-tinted sunglasses covering her eyes sat in a limo in the middle of a traffic jam in Shinjuku. The driver was furiously honking the horn to move but with no avail.

"They're not going to move," the girl said in a French accent. "So you might as well stop it. Besides, I don't mind taking so long. This city is beautiful. It is not Paris, but no place is like Paris, just like no place is like Tokyo." The young girl took of her sunglasses to reveal twinkling amethyst eyes. She smiled as she saw some small kids walking beside their mother.

"Armand, later I am going to dress in my civilian clothes," she told him. "I would like to know the kids my age in this area."

"Yes, Miss Angeletta," Armand replied. "Will you be seeing your cousin Miss Tenshi?" Angeletta smiled.

"She probably already knows I'm coming," she stated. "You know about her gift, Armand." The driver nodded.

"Yes, Miss, but I must remind you that you still need to practice for your concert," he stated.

"Yes, yes, I know," Angeletta replied like it was something she wasn't looking forward to. The girl then smiled and reached into her bag beside her to reveal a skateboard. Another pull revealed some ragged-looking jeans and a somewhat tight-looking t-shirt that said 'angel' on it. Angeletta ducked under the seat so Armand couldn't see her and changed out of her fancy faux-fur ensemble. As soon as she was changed, the young singer smiled.

"Au revoir!" she exclaimed, opening the door to the limo and jumping out, her skateboard under her arm. Armand's eyes went wide.

"Miss!" he exclaimed, but his voice couldn't be heard over the honking horns of some very irritated drivers.

Meanwhile, the Kami girls were spending a Monday afternoon at the arcade. Nariko and Mizu competed on Taiko no Tatsujin (rhythym game combining traditional Japanese percussion and pop music), Michiru typed furiously on a Typing Game, while Tenshi was yelling as a car shot her off the road in a racing game. Game over came on her screen, and the grade for the game came out.

"An 'F'?!" she demanded, and she crumpled up the piece of paper and tossed it half way across the arcade. Nariko and Mizu leaned back from their drums and stared at the older girl as she stormed out of the arcade. They looked at eachother and shrugged and put their hands back on the drums, but as soon as they did, game over came on their screen also. They simutaniously slumped down, and Nariko looked over to Michiru. She got up and walked over to her friend, and waved her hand in front of her face.

"She fell asleep!" Nariko exclaimed. Mizu slightly giggled and got up and tapped Michiru on the shoulder.

"Michiru, I think we'd better go now," she stated. Michiru opened her eyes and blinked, then nodded. She took the magnetic card out of the slot and followed the two.

Just as the three left the arcade, screaming could be heard.

"Sorry, sorry!" a feminine voice exclaimed, and soon a girl in torn jeans and a t-shirt that said 'angel' on it came skateboarding up the sidewalk. She stopped in front of the three and flipped the skateboard into the air, catching it with both her hands.

"Hi, this is the arcade, right?" she asked. The three girls nodded, blinking. The girl smiled and walked in.

"Who was that?" Mizu asked. Nariko shrugged. Michiru yawned.

"I think I'll go to the park and take a nap," she stated. "I'll see you tomorrow at school."

"What's everyone looking at?" Toshi asked the next day as he saw a crowd gathered around the bulletin board by his homeroom. The crowd eventually parted and the boy walked up and read the poster.

"A song writing contest?" he asked.

"And the winner gets to sing their song with Angeletta Blanche!" Nariko exclaimed from beside him. Toshi looked over to the blond.

"Who the heck is Angeletta Blanche?" he asked. Nariko glared at the boy.

"You don't know who she is?!" she demanded. Her eyes got starry, and Toshi sweatdropped. "Angeletta Blanche is a world famous singer! She grew up in Paris, the city of lights! She writes all her own songs, too! Right now she's on a world tour! We're lucky she's even passing through Tokyo!" Toshi sweatdropped again.

"I take it you're going to enter then?" he asked. Nariko grinned.

"No way; I can't write!" she exclaimed, and Toshi fell over. When he got back up, Mizu was staring up at the poster.

"What about you?" he asked. Mizu grinned.

"The last time I wrote something was back when we were five," she replied, laughing inwardly at the memory. "Remember? Your parents got into a big fight and I wrote them each a 'love letter'." Toshi nodded.

"Yeah, and when they saw eachother again, they just burst out laughing and never talked about that fight again," he finished. The two burst out laughing and Nariko looked thoughtful.

"Hmm," she said.

Kamlyn looked furious, her blue eyes turning as cold as ice as she glared at Toru, the Kami of Darkness.

"Listen Toru, I know about the whole war affair, but that DOES NOT MEAN YOU HAVE TO DO IT THIS TIME, TOO!" she shrieked. She untensed, closed her eyes, and took a deep breath. "Do I make myself clear?" Toru was looking down, not necessarily at the floor, as the Realm of Darkness has no floor, but whatever you might call it.

"You have," he replied. "I know that I shouldn't even have emotions like love, but I can't help it!" Kamlyn sighed and rolled her eyes.

"Of course you can't," she replied. "You aren't really a dark counterpart. And as they say, darkness doesn't necessarily mean evil. However..." Toru looked up as Kamlyn paused. "That doesn't mean you're good, either. But I wonder, do you believe that that girl Mizu Kaori knows that?" This time Toru went to his real self, obnoxious.

"Of course she doesn't," he replied, his voice turning cold. "She's probably heard the story by now. She probably thinks she can make me fall in love with her again and get me to their side." Kamlyn raised her eyebrows.

"In your past life, you failed me and the rest of the Dark Kamis," she stated, pacing back and forth as she said this. She stopped and looked Toru straight in the eyes. "Do you believe you deserve a second chance? Do you believe that you can destroy our counterparts and that traderous dark water kami?" Toru smirked.

"Of course I do," he replied. Kamlyn's face tensed.

"Then do it!" she yelled, and Toru vanished.

Mizu and Chiyu walked down the sidewalk after school in silence.

This silence is killing me! I gotta say something! Mizu thought. She took a deep breath and was about to say whatever would come out, but Chiyu beat her to the punch.

"So, um, are you gonna enter that song writing contest?" Chiyu asked, looking down at the ground. Mizu rolled her eyes.

"Please! The last time I wrote was when I was five!" she exclaimed. "Do you really think I could win?" Chiyu shrugged.

"Hey, Mizu!" someone called. Both Mizu and Chiyu blinked and turned around to see Toru standing a little back. Mizu folded her arms, while Chiyu looked slightly confused as Toru walked up to them. Toru raised his eyebrows at Chiyu.

"And who would your friend be?" he asked calmly. Mizu still kept her arms folded.

"THAT would be the one you know as Zenkazuo," she replied. "Although in modern-day he's known as Chiyu." Toru slightly twitched at the name Zenkazuo. "But what would the Kami of Darkness care anyway?"

"The... Kami of Darkness?" Chiyu asked, still confused. Mizu nodded.

"And now, I am just going to walk away from the crazy person," she stated. "And you are, too." She grabbed Chiyu's hand and forced him to follow her. Toru blinked. That was NOT the reaction he had expected.

Angeletta sighed as the music to her song finally stopped, and she took off her headphones and exited the soundroom.

"Don't forget Angeletta, the contest winner will be singing with you on Saturday!" the music operator pointed out. Angeletta nodded.

"I know that, Dominique," she stated. "I will be ready." She started walking away. She then turned to Dominique. "Dominique, what time is it?" The woman glanced at her watch.

"Uh, three o'clock," she stated. Angeletta looked thoughtful.

"The schools should be getting out soon," she stated. "I think I will go meet some kids."

The final bell rang, finishing the half day of school on Saturday.

"Don't forget people, your science projects are due on Tuesday! Please don't make me go through what happened last year again!" the teacher exclaimed as the kids gathered their things up. Nariko walked along beside Michiru as they made their way to the entrance.

"What happened last year?" Michiru asked quietly. Nariko grimaced.

"You know that kid in 8C, Hiroshi Yamamoto?" she asked, and Michiru nodded. "Well, let's just say that the chemicals didn't agree with him because he waited to the last moment to mix them together, when they were supposed to sit for a while. I was in elementary school back then, but my Mom used to be a teacher here. She said it took weeks to get rid of the smell." Michiru giggled as she and Nariko took off their school shoes and put on their street shoes.

"But I'd better go," she stated. "I gotta get my song in for that contest to sing with Angeletta Blanche. Today's the deadline." Michiru nodded and they parted ways. Mizu and Toshi soon came out of the building and caught up with the Earth Kami.

"You goin' anywhere? Toshi and me were planning to go to the arcade," Mizu stated. Michiru shook her head.

"I need to finish the science project," she stated. Mizu and Toshi nodded and walked ahead of their green-haired friend. As soon as they were gone, Michiru turned and followed Nariko.

All the Kamis, minus Nariko and Michiru, stood in the crowd that waited in the convention center for the announcment of who won the contest. Tenshi had convinced them to come, saying something about her cousin was part of the show.

"All right, you want to know who won the contest!" a person from the top of the stage screamed over the crowd through a head-set microphone. Nariko and Michiru came stumbling through the crowd.

"Tenshi, we've gotta get every out of here!" Nariko exclaimed, and Michiru nodded frantically. Mizu raised her eyebrows.

"What are you talking about?" she asked, still looking up at the stage. The person was about to tell the name of the person that won the song contest, when everything went dark. The whole crowd around them disappeared. A figure came running up to them.

"Tenshi, what has happened?" she asked frantically. Tenshi shook her head.

"I don't know, Angeletta!" she replied. But soon, Angeletta disappeared too, and there was nothing but black. The Kamis backed up against eachother, when the Dark Kamis appeared. Kamlyn grinned evilly.

"Like our decoration?" she asked. "Of course it took a lot of energy to get us here, but it was worth it." Mizu's eyes went wide.

"The Realm of Darkness!" she exclaimed.

Tenshi: Next time on Shinki no Kami, the Dark Kamis have brought us to the Realm of Darkness. It's a horrible place where our Element powers are useless, so we're forced to use brute force! But with Mizu and Michiru not strong enough to stand the Realm of Darkness, we're outnumbered! How will we get out?!
