Never Look Back - Part Two Usagi-chan Usagi@tuxedomask.com I don't own Sailormoon or anything pertaining to. I was advised to write more because of the possibilities, so here I am! Yay me! ~~~ Darien pulled up in front of his large home. It was one of the larger homes in Tokyo, a sign of exactly how rich his benefactor had been. Darien watched Serena for any signs of awe. She seemed unimpressed with his home. Smiling in wardly, Darien parked his car and opened his door. Serena opened hers and got out of the car. "This way." Darien told her as he locked his car and set the alarm. Serena followed him to the front doors and into the house. Serena glanced around the front foyer which was tastefully decorated, if a little bland. "You're probably tired. I can show you to your room right away, unless you would rather have something to eat?" Darien asked her. "No, I'm fine." Serena said. "Okay. I'll lend you one of my shirts for tonight and tomorrow we can go shopping for some new clothes." Darien spoke as he walked up the stairs of the house. Serena followed him. "Fine, whatever." She muttered. Darien turned left at the top of the stairs and opened the doors. "This is the west wing. It is yours to do with as you please. We can redecorate it or anything." Darien told her. Serena nodded. "Great." "I'll go grab some clothes I can lend you." Darien told her before turning around and walking away. Serena ventured forward and opened the first door on the left. The room was large and decorated in blues and soft greens. It left the impression of an underwater kingdom. Serena made a face at the room and shut the door. She moved onto the next room and opened it to find large windows lining one wall of the room. The room was set up with an easel in the center with paints and canvas every where. Serena smiled, but shut the door and moved across the hall. This time, the room was white, with a large white canopy bed centered at the back. It rest on a small platform in the room. On one side was a white vanity table and dresser. On the other, closet doors. There were two french doors that led out onto a balcony. Serena's smile widened as she went further into the room. "Is this the room you're going to use?" Darien asked. Serena whirled around to see him standing in the door way. "Yes, for now." Serena told him. "Here are some clothes. They are kind of formal, but all I have..." Darien smiled apologetically. "That's fine." Serena said. "There are some towels in the bathroom over there, if you want to take a bath or something to relax." Darien pointed to a door Serena hadn't noticed. "Okay, I think I will." Serena accepted the clothes from him. "I'll come check on you in about half an hour." Darien shut the door and left Serena alone. Serena set the clothes on the bed and went into the bathroom. It was huge, with white tiles everywhere. The bathtub was as big as Serena's room back in the orphanage. Smiling, she discarded her clothes and filled the bathtub, dumping in some bubble bath she found. Slowly, she sank into the warm water letting it sooth away all the tension in her muscles. Serena drank in the scent of roses and sighed deeply. Her mind began to wander. How exactly had everything changed so much in one night? How had she gone from the bad girl to the 'daughter' of a wealthy man? Sighing again, Serena shampood her hair quickly, and rinsed it. She was anxious to try out that new bed. Serena rinsed all the soap away and dried herself off with one of the large fluffy towels. She quickly doned the white dress shirt Darien had given her and went to the vanity table. She sat down and opened one of the drawers. She pulled out a brush and brushed her long, wet hair. As she put the brush back and stood up, Darien knocked gently on her door. "Serena?" He called softly. "Come in." Serena said, facing the door. Darien slowly opened the door and looked at her. His jaw nearly dropped at the image she made. "Is something wrong?" Serena asked, turning away and climbing up the stairs to her bed. She pulled the covers down and turned to Darien, waiting for a reply. "No, nothing..." Darien choked out. Serena shrugged. "Did you want something?" "No. Just wanted to make sure everything is okay. Do you usually sleep late?" Darien asked her. "What do you mean?" Serena asked suspiciously. "I want to know what time to expect to go shopping. Maybe I can get some work in before..." Darien explained. "I'll be up early for school. We'll have to go after that." Serena told him, now sitting on the bed. "No, you'll be switching schools anyway." Darien told her. "Will I?" Serena asked, raising an eyebrow. "Yes. I want you attending a more prestigious school." "And if I like the school I'm in now?" Serena asked, getting angrier by the minute. "Serena." Darien said warningly. "You think you can just waltz into my life and take over? Think again. Good night." Serena said, sliding under the covers and turning away from Darien. She heard him sigh before shutting the door gently. ~~~
