Memories - Epilogue Usagi-chan Usagi@tuxedomask.com I don't own Sailormoon or anything pertaining to E-mail me! ~~~ That night Serena fell asleep in Darien's arms. When they had finally come in from the blacony, it was late, and neither had wanted to disturb Lita. Serena had slipped on Darien's shirt, because her bag was in Lita's room. She had fallen into a deep and peaceful sleep; something she hadn't experienced in a long time. Serena slept the entire night through, without the usual nightmares and dreams, without calling out in her sleep, and waking up sweating and crying. Darien stayed up late into the night, watching her. He gazed at her sleeping face happily. She was practically his. She loved him as much as he did her. She had accepted his promise ring. Darien didn't think he could be happier. He smiled down at Serena and gently brushed some stray hair from her forehead. Serena stirred slightly in her sleep, a smile forming on her lips. She snuggled closer to Darien, deeper into his embrace, but remained asleep. Darien's smile widened and he tightened his arms around her. Slowly he closed his eyes, almost afraid that if he did, she would disappear. Still holding her tightly, Darien felt himself drift off to sleep. ~~ The sunshine streamed in through the window and hit Serena's face. She never stirred. Darien, on the hand, was not used to the sunshine and he woke up. Gradually, he became aware of his surroundings, and he smiled. He remembered the events that had transpired the previous night. Serena was his. The mere thought brought a smile to his face. He almost burst out laughing with joy. He loved her, and she loved him. Gently he ran his finger across her cheek to her chin. He leaned over and brushed his lips against her forehead. Serena remained oblivious to reality, still sleeping deeply. Darien was glad for her. He knew that she had been having nightmares, although she never said anything. Darien glanced at the clock on the night stand beside the bed. It was almost eight in the morning and he figured Lita would be up soon. Very reluctantly, he pulled himself away from Serena and climbed out of bed. He stretched and glanced at himself in the mirror. He figured his appearance was acceptable for Lita. Darien eased the bedroom door open and went into the kitchen. "So you are finally up." Lita teased. "Merry Christmas to you too!" Darien replied, smiling. "Did you two sleep well?" Lita asked. Darien nodded. "Yeah." He replied. Before Lita could say anything else, a shriek pierced the air. Darien raced back to the bedroom he had just left to find Serena sitting on the bed, a huge smile plastered across her face. She had woken up to the best Christmas present ever. Her memories. ~~~ Short epilogue, but that's okay!
