  The Crucible For Silver

Early in the morning, hearing Mommy cry
I remember asking, "Why did Daddy die?"
Car parked in the driveway, briefcase on the chair
Clothes hung in the closet, but no Daddy there

(CHORUS)
The crucible for silver
The furnace is for gold
He sits as a refiner to purify our souls
Until we stand in righteousness
A vessel fit for Him to bless
The crucible, the furnace
The long way home....

Early in the morning, packing up the car
I remember asking "Are we moving far?"
Rolling down my window, waving to my friends
How did all this happen, will I see them again?

Early in the morning, many mornings past
I remember walking to his grave at last
Saying my goodbyes there, only one thing fair
One thing worth remembering, Jesus met me there.
