Mi Morenci. . .

Old Concentrator Ruins in the 90's - Morenci was to the left of the photo. Morenci High School is buried below tons of dirt where the cars are parked.

In the late 60's, Phelps Dodge Corporation expanded the open pit mine and destroyed the whole town. Ironically, the only way to mark the site of Morenci is by the ruins of the old concentrator which were located on A.C. Hill. The concrete monoliths stand tall and and white like a gravestone to the memory of Morenci.
