Kages Stars Chapter 1 It was nighttime, the moon was in its new moon phase; it was completely devoid of light. The surrounding area was almost shrouded in darkness; only thing seen in the sky was the twinkle of the stars. Kage Arorua looked up standing near a broken street lamp in an empty street with his ice blue eyes shimmering with the starts reflecting what little they gave onto his eyes with the cold wind blowing across his black hair; he didnt mind the cold or the wind, didnt matter to him. He was watching the stars in the sky in an absent-minded blank stare, thinking of his past actions and what was left for him to pick up and move on. Lots had happened to him in these past few months, it makes a person wonder if it was really worth it in the end. In general if the person was simple, it would have been worth it but Kage wasnt a simple person. He was one of those people who question if what they did was right or too much... or perhaps not enough. Well, he said to no one in particular, in a somewhat rough and worn out voice. Though you can tell there was some hint of youth in the voice, barely noticeable. I did it So now what? After about an hour, he stopped looking at the stars and walked down the street, his jacket making slight ribbing noises every so often. It was quiet due to the lack of people and animals in the area, one might be uncomfortable in such stillness but it didnt bother Kage. He was used to the silence as if he was born in the vary silence that surrounded him. The only sounds that could be heard were the ones from his jacket and the echoing of his footsteps. This continued on for what seemed like hours, the street seemingly endless and going into an infinite loop that goes on forever. The chilly night air feeling as if it got ten degrees colder, but still he walked on. As he walked, his mind began to think. He began thinking about his name. Kage- meaning shadow- is rather appropriate for his attitude and feelings; a mere shadow of his former self. Corny statement it may be but very accurate. Even after what he did, he still felt as empty as he did when that very event that opened Pandoras box so to speak. Of course, stuff like this happens to people all the time just not very often. Another thing he thought about was when he was younger, about the time he was a little kid and was ignorant of the world. He used to go outside with his brother Lumino, lie on the grass and watch the stars. There was something about those stars that inspired them, as if the stars wanted them to reach for them. It was when one day, Lumino asked his brother to make a promise with him; to someday reach for the star that was destined to be theirs. The star was their dream and they wanted to reach it, but something happened. Shaking his head to prevent him from reliving that event, he looked around to see if it was still there. On the curve of the street was a car; this car was navy blue and sleek. It was a car that looked like from the 1970s, didnt look too extreme but it looked cool and had the matching feel to it. Kage walked over to it and opened the door, left the door unlocked to begin with knowing there was no one around to steal it. He slipped the keys into the ignition and started the car up; it was somewhat loud but nothing like a roar, more like a growl then anything else. He drove off into the night, not bothering turning on the headlights. He stared down the road; it too looked as if it went on for miles unending. As he drove and night still being young, he began to think back to the incident. Even though it wasnt a good memory, he had too look back to figure out something; starting from beginning to end. Thats it for this chapter, tune in next time to find out more.
