| Thank You for Your Support |
| We are truly touched by the outpouring of support and love from so many people. The response to our original e-mail announcement was so overwhelming, it took a few weeks before Mimi felt ready to read them. Many of our friends and colleagues, including many neutrals (mediators) in Mimi's Court program and judges of the Court, have sent e-mail messages and cards and even gifts of books, flowers and, meal gift certificates and a Mr. Potato Head! We're fortunate to have Mimi's parents and her brother David and sister-in-law Maddy just minutes away. They've been a tremendous help and support. Mimi's close friends, including some from LA, have been visiting. (Mimi is generally up for visits, walks, scarf-tying consultations, etc.) Families at our kids' schools have been bringing delicious meals to us three times a week. (Bob says we should have thought of this years ago.) We have especially enjoyed it when friends have brought us meals and stayed to eat with us. We've also enjoyed going to other's home for Shabbat meals. Friends with medical knowledge have been helpful in helping us confirm that we've chosen a good clinical trial. We love to hear success stories of people who have done well with lung cancer. Many of our Jewish friends have asked for Mimi's Hebrew name for the "Mishaberch" blessing. Her Hebrew name is "Miriam Bat Shaina Leiba v'Beryl" If prayer works, we should have it made. Some examples: an Orthodox priest from Bob's old neighborhood in Chicago, a yoga instructor in San Francisco, a judge's secretary putting us on a family prayer chain and asking a friend to do long distance Reicki healing, and a mediator in Mimi's court program who stuck a note on her behalf into the Western Wall in Jerusalem. Many thanks to all of you who are keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. |
