| This photo still has the photographer's mark and T. Duryea was in Adelaide from 1855-1875. I would date this man to be in his fifties - so therefore born around 1800-1820. As this photo was held by Rex Carvosso and labelled that it was a Carvosso, it would have to be one who came out to South Australia. The only person who fits that category is Samuel CARVOSSO. Samuel was born 1 January 1814 in Mylor, Cornwall and emigrated with his family in 1849. Samuel died 29 November 1874 aged 60. He was a coachbuilder in Truro and then in Adelaide at the suburb of Knightsbridge. He was also involved in the Fire Brigade. Can you confirm who this man is? |
