| INFORMATION FOR CANDIDATES WITH RED CROSS TRAINING | |||||||
| Beginning in 2009, the Milwaukee County Lifeguards will accept Red Cross lifeguard training in lieu of our physical in-water training. In order to be exempt from our training and physical performance exam, the following things MUST be done: 1. We MUST have a copy of your certification card on file in the Aquatics Office. 2. You MUST register for a 40-hour First Responder course. Since the First Responder course our lifeguards take goes above and beyond what is taught in Red Cross lifeguard training, we will expect everyone to take this course. There is a $165.00 fee associated with this course, but guards who complete the summer with the Milwaukee County Parks will be paid at their hourly rate for the 40 hours they spend in the course at the end of the season. The following are the scheduled courses for 2009: -April 13-17, 2009 (Spring Break for most schools) THIS CLASS IS FULL! -June 8-12, 2009 -June 15-29, 2009 -May 23, 30, June 6, 13, 19, 2009 (Saturdays Only) CLICK HERE for a copy of the registration form.
