Information on Henderson Descendants in Greene County, Alabama

William Franklin Henderson and Agnes Roebuck Stephens children: (1) Agnes Roebuck Henderson married Joesph M. Leavelle 1860. (2) Edmund Waller Henderson, Confederate Soldier, married Elizbeth Janie Cartee 1867, mother of all his/their 8 children, after her death married Evaline Elizabeth Ellis Doigg who was a loving stepmother, the three are all buried at Beulah Baptist Church at Snoddy, Ala. (3) John Richard Henderson, Confederate Soldier, died War Between the States. (4) Benjamin Henderson, Confederate Soldier, did not return from WBTS, was taken prisoner. (5) Samuel Taylor Henderson married Sarah A. Edwards 1874, 9 children, both are buried at Bethel Baptist Church at Ralph, Ala. (6) James Zack Henderson married Mary E. Pearson 1875, 4 children, he is buried at Bethel Baptist Church, she and children are buried at Beulah Baptist Church. (7) Martha E. Henderson married William Thomas "Uncle Pet" Cartee, 3 children, she beautiful lady from her pictures.

Edmund Waller Henderson (Edmund correct, not Edmond) and Elizabeth Janie Cartee children: (1) Mary Ida Henderson married John Edward Henderson of Mississippi, grandson of David Henderson who moved to Miss. after WBTS, married 1890 in Greene County, Alabama, they lived in Miss. and had 11children. (2) Sarah Agnes "Sally" Henderson born 1872 and died 1874, diptheria epidemic. (3) Joseph Benjamin Henderson married Nancy Elizabeth Lewis 1895, the family moved to Terrell, Kaufman County, Texas, had 13 children, 11 born in Greene County and 2 born in Texas. (4) Elizabeth Frances "Lizzie" Henderson, born 1876, fell and broke her neck, died 1890, buried in Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery. (5) James Edmond Henderson married Nancy Jane Lamb 1899 in Greene County, both buried at Beulah Baptist Church where "Uncle Jim" was very active in the Church, 16 children. (6) William David Henderson married Nancy Jane Ellis 1909 in Greene County, they are buried in Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery, 2 children. (7) Luther Randolph Henderson married Annie Vera Lewis 1905, all moved to Havana, Florida, 5 children. (8) John Clifton Henderson married Lydia Ann Stephens 1907 at Beulah Baptist Church, they were active in Beulah Church and helped reorganize Clinton Baptist Church when they moved to Clinton, Alabama, they are buried in the Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery, 9 children.

Samuel "Sam" Taylor Henderson and Sarah Ann Edwards children: (1) William "Billie" David Henderson born 1875, died 1951, 3 children. (2) Samuel Clarence Henderson, born 1878. (3) George "Pa George" Washington Henderson married Lillie Crocker about 1911, Nannie Wilson 1917, and Florence Lewis, 5 children. (4) James "Little Jim" Edwards Henderson married Maude Cartee, 2 children including Mary Lou Henderson of Cottondale, Ala., lovely lady, deceased. (5) Minnie Jane Henderson, 1 child. (6) Sallie E. Henderson married Abner Ross Phillips, 8 children. (7) Ross Graves Henderson married Stella Phillips, both are buried at Bethel Baptist Church at Ralph, Ala. (8) infant daughter buried at Bethel Baptist Church 1898. (9) Bennie Henderson buried at Bethel Baptist Church 1905.

James (J.Z.) Zack Henderson and Mary E. Pearson children: (1) Florence Estrella Henderson. (2) J. L/evirgie "Virgie" Henderson. (3) Mary Ella Henderson. (4) Alice Etrulia "Trudy" Henderson. The children are all buried at Beulah Baptist Church at Snoddy, Ala. with their mother.

Martha E. Henderson and William Thomas "Uncle Pet" Cartee children: (1) Mary Agness "Aunt Aggie" Cartee married J.D. Heritage 1923 in Greene County. (2) John E. Cartee married Beulah Pearce 1919 in Greene County. (3) William Grover Cartee married Martha "Mattie" Ann Leavelle 1909 Bethel Baptist Church at Ralph, Ala., 9 children including wonderful nice lady, Junie Magdalene Cartee, deceased.
