Players who went the extra mile
ROBERTO FERNANDEZ must be mentioned first since he was the only pitcher on our team who pitched for a win in the tournament, after a great day on the mount in the opener, but stayed hot at bat as well batting .350 with 2 HR (4 1B,1 2B,4 R,6 RBI).Defencewise nobody could top YANNIS APOSTOLOPOULOS' game. Our SS proved to be most reliable as in 30 chances YANNIS threw for 19 assists and had 9 putouts too, for a fielding average of .933.JAMES KOMNINAKIS fielded balls in the outfield with an average of .933 too (12 outs,2 assists in 15 chances) and ofcourse a special mention should be made for ROBERT McNAMARA's accomplishment at bat for never striking out in the whole tournament.

  MILON off the field
Team dinners, clubbing, strolls down the city's plaza....and ofcourse THE SPA.The team took a good look of Blagoevgrad during the night as well as in daytime.Taking advantage of the low cost of the local market the players experienced life the easy way.Everything in Blagoevgrad outside the field was taking the tention of competing away from the players who seemed to enjoy every moment of their staying there.
The (regular from a point and after) massages at the spa after the games, the every night team dinners in the restaurants, the local clubs and the relaxing aura that the city seemed to have during the day are what we all took home with us on our way back besides baseball.

Could we have done any better?
It seems that it is a common strategy for most teams to inject players from other clubs in their rosters just for European competition.MILON decided to take part in this tournament with their own roster and with NO OUTSIDE HELP whatsoever. If we would bring other pitchers from the Greek league, yes,we would have done better. If the other teams competed with their original rosters, yes, there would have been closer games. But the tougher the competition gets, the more experience our players are gaining. We managed to score a single win on our own against VOJVODE ZEMUN, who also came to play with their original roster, and that means a lot to all of us

  VOJVODE ZEMUN
Our first ever opponent in European competition! VOJVODE ZEMUN (Zemun Dukes) is one of the best teams in their country Serbia, they last won the double crown 3 times in a row in their domestic league (2000,01,02) and have a consistent presence in the European tournaments. Our teams bonded while in the tournament since all players from both teams seemed to share the same passion for
(night)life because of similar cultures.A very special greet should go out to the team's coach MOMO KOJIC for the effort he has put in assembling the team and his friendly approach towards us, and ofcourse many friendly greetings are sent to all the players of the VOJVODE team.
