Step 1: Start out by adding 4 rings to a single ring as shown

Step 3: Take two closed ring and put them on an open one and attach them.

Well thats the basic expasion for Lorenzo's Persian 4in1 weave. I suggest that you make it bigger because it will twist when you pick it up. The larger you expand it, the easier it will be to sort it out when its flat.
