| We are now 1/3 through the first Season of the WSOP Poker Tour. This months winner was the "Host with the Most", Tom Bugh. Tom arrived at the final table as one of the short stacks, and had to survive multiple all-ins just to make the final table. His all-in luck held out as he doubled up again and again at the final table to be the chip leader when it got down to heads-up action versus the points leader, Brian Tobey. The heads-up match lasted all of about 12 hands with only 1 or 2 being shown down before the final hand. Much of the action, watched by third place finisher Gary Barker, who also survived numerous all-ins throughout the night, involved a pre-or-post flop raise and a fold, as both players were aggressive. With blinds of 1,000 and 2,000 the final hand was played out. While the first three tournaments saw all the money going into the middle pre-flop, this month the money went all-in on the turn. Tom called the action from the small blind pushing in 1,000 and Brian checked his option from the big blind. Although no cards had been shown yet, with the magic of the hole card cam, we knew that they were holding...... |

| Brian was first to act and having made second pair fired out a bet of 2,000. Tom, giving it some thought, raised making it 6,000 to go. Brian called and was a big underdog (17.7% vs. 82.3%) going into the turn. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| The turn card did not help either hand but increased Tom's chances (88.6% vs. 11.4%) of becoming the fourth different winner. Brian checked to Tom who then pushed all-in. Brian, hoping that Tom was on a bluff or a 10 with a weaker kicker made the call. He later admitted that because Tom did not raise pre-flop, he did not put him on an Ace. After the cards were turned over, Brian realized he was well behind and called for a 10 or an 8 on the river. |
