Oh, the overall points leader went out early, only getting 4 points!

Once again, we have another first time winner here on the WSOP Poker Tour.  This month, Joe Nichols was able to defeat Brian Bayless for the win.

Both players were just about even in chips coming into the final hand, with Joe having about 800 more than Brian.  The blinds were 1,000 and 2,000 and Brian had the button and was first to act.

Brian fired out a raise of 2.5 times the big blind making it 5,000 to go.  Joe, after giving it some thought, re-raised coming over the top, pushing all his chips into the pot.  Brian called and the cards were flipped over revealing:

Brian was well ahead in the hand at this point with Joe needing and Ace.
The flop came:
Joe flops his money card, vaulting him into the lead (83.6% to 16.4%).  Brian is now looking for a Queen or running hearts or running cards to make a straight.
The turn card was the
The turn card did not help Brian at all and now needs the river to be one of the two queens left in the deck.  Joe, seeing his lead increase to 95.4%-to-4.6% can taste victory if he can avoid a Queen.
ends the heads up match with Joe becoming the 5th winner.
