Millom AOS would like to thank our Donors and Benefactors - We apologise for not naming donors and benefactors - this is due to security rules. But we thank you none the less.
Millom AOS has a plan regarding the future of the Millom Palladium with specific emphasis on the next 5 years and how to upgrade to a level the Millom public would like. The first stages of this are to be funded by specially organised events including Coffee Mornings, Shows and Fun Days. Including those in July.
ThInitially we aim to upgrade the Heating systems and some essential repairs. This follows on from some of the societies other upgrades over recent years - not all of which will be obvious to the public.
The buildings aesthetics are to be considered as well as the heating, insulation and seating issues.
Palladium ownership is to be transferred back over from Millom & Haverigg Economic Development Group. This is about to take place.
Future bookings and enquiries reagrding the Palladium should be addressed to Barry / Diane Vernon in the first instance until a suitable booking mechanism is in place.
Millom's most famous son is poet and author Norman Nicholson (1914 - 87) , who lived his whole life at St. George's Terrace in the town centre. It is now a local Cafe "Nicholson House". A new stained glass window memorial has been placed in St. George's Church, where he worshipped.
